Lew's Model Boats - Trawler Elena

About
The British trawler "Elena" is one of Lew's favorite model boats. A nice design and it handles very well in the water. This boat was acquired partially built (see in the begining photos below). It had been sitting in storage for year and need a lot of cleanup and repairing before resuming the build. The model originated as a kit from Artesania Latina, a 1/20 scale fishing trawler called "Hellen".
The Model
The photos below are arranged in closely dated order, from when the model was received (upper left) until completion. Many details were added or modified to make the model more realistic. Photographs of real boats were used as a reference to make these details.
